Re: FrolingNothing against Froling. Sometimes it's just about chemistry

Re: FrolingHad I shown up to SMU as a scholarship freshman out of shape, I think my coach might have punched me in the face. My teammates certainly would have. But the 6 hours a day of training in August would have gotten me in shape right quick. Certainly would not have been "husky" come first game. But I guess times have changed.

Re: Froling
He could have been in shape and he still was not athletic nor quick. Just would have had a bit more stamina but he would not have fit in the SMU offense any better. He was just not a good fit in shape or not. #HammerDown
Re: FrolingOur 6-5 and 6-6 guys can out jump and outrebound Froling and play better defense-we are just losing some fouls in an emergency on the Nite that Semi and Ben get in foul trouble

Re: FrolingWe could not have played that first half tempo with Froling. Sorry it didn't work out, but short term results indicate we're doing better without him.

Re: FrolingWilson looks lost. No confidence and doesn't move well with out the ball. He looks out of his league.
If he can't get in the flow of the game and contribute I can't see how he will stay. Because with the guys coming in he would likely slide to the end of the bench. Pony 81
Re: FrolingWhy is everybody so concerned about Tom Wilson's playing time? There are about 10 of you guys all over SMU sites. He's not that good and he's far behind Dashawn's ceiling. He's not penetrating-just throwing the ball around the perimeter. DaShawn understands and is playing within the offense. He lost 2 potential assists tonite when entry passes resulted in fouls. Even when he doesn't finish a play I see him hustling, getting in good position for rebounds and attempting to create plays for his teammates. DaShawn is athletically far superior to Wilson. I think the guy should consider a transfer because I don't see him playing much-ever

Re: FrolingSome guys are slower to develop then others. People rushing to judge an 18 foreign player 11 games into his freshman year are short sighted. Kid has a nice stroke and gives a good effort out there. He could develop into an ice role player over time. Nothing wrong with having a guy that can give you 10 good minutes at the 1 or the 2. Hopefully he keeps at it and remains.
Re: FrolingI'm with stallion on this. There certainly hasn't been anything to warrant more time. I'm just wondering if it was the jet lag that made our coaches think they were going to come in and compete at this level.
Too early to throw in the towel but it's hard to see what would change to make him good enough to see ANY court time when we have 13 scholarships on the team. Seems like a nice fella but that don't win games.
Re: FrolingI was pro Wilson from what I had heard from pre-season, but he hasn't earned more of a role than he is playing right now. As mentioned he isn't able to attack like most of our other guards. He also isn't as good on the glass, or on defense.
McDowell has shown much more potential so far. Not saying Wilson needs to transfer because he could put in the work off-season and he has a nice stroke and contribute, but if he did it wouldn't be a huge loss. Froling visits: https://twitter.com/goodmanespn/status/ ... 3009637376
