Rivals has him as a CB recruit. Only video on him is as QB but with those dimensions, there is no way we would be recruiting him for QB.

Tim Crosby is your living definition of an "athlete" recruit. (Not that it matters, but I have him listed at 5'10.5".) His 4.5 speed is consistent (he's run in the high 4.5s on grass, and an even 4.5 on turf). I would expect him to be a special teams guy if he plays at all as a freshman, simply because he had to focus so much on his quarterback duties in high school. Defensively, he relied nearly exclusively on his athleticism, sitting back as the classic "center field" safety. In his first year, he'll have to improve -- essentially to learn -- cornerback coverage technique. Athletically, he's more like Jonas Rutledge than Kevin Garrett, who's more of a pure sprinter. He has good hands, so he should be able to make interceptions if he gets into the right positions. He's another in the long line players Phil Bennett goes after to improve the team's speed and athleticism. He'll need a little time to feel comfortable as a cornerback, but the raw athleticism is there.

I think I like this report the best out of Guru's reports. Clearly RG likes Crosby's potential, but he's not just coming on here and telling us everyone -- even an area top 100 guy -- is going to be headed to the Hall of Fame. Great comparison between Rutledge and Garrett. Honestly, I'll take a clone of either one.

Can he return kicks like Rutledge, too?
