If you are from SMU, you can always pull the picture up on your phone when talking to an A&M guy bragging on his team.

Johnny Football is not broke. His family is rather well off. Along with his great talent went an entitlement ego that was just as formidable. Coaches routinely found him lazy in preparation, and not focused. This from an Aggie team mate.

Talent will get you a long way, but it will not carry you past your ability. Johnny hit the wall in Cleveland, and instead of adapting and overcoming, he simply reverted back to that nature that had been successful before...being JF. It has not worked.

Money will not be an issue, either short term or long term. There is still a ' spare [deleted]' as Jimmy Stewart said in Shenandoah that is available from family. As long as this is the case, the lifestyle will continue.

Let's hope that family indeed DOES step out of the financial/enabling picture, so Mr Manziel will get the help that can save his life.

He was spending at an incredible rate. His wealth is significant but you can't blow millions of dollars on non-income producing assets and hope that it lasts for 60 years. It doesn't. Selling photos at the mall doesn't smell of deep pockets to me.
