While I don't trust Tubbs' coaching abilities, I do trust his recruiting and he has proved by consistently recruiting well that he has a good eye for talent. Look at this year with Morris and Bamba. If Tubbs likes him I like him.

Rivals says he has committed to SMU.

Currently ranks 5th in scoring for District 5A in Dallas, averaging 19.3 ppg. Also, averages 9.2 rpg, which ranks him 9th in his district.

Don't know anything about "Texas Round Ball", but TRB is the one evidently that has him ranked in top 75 according to the original post on this thread. Sorry to hear that the holy Rivals affiliate does not agree. Guess we will just have to learn how to live with it. :?

I've seen Sloan play once for Pearce, but I wasnt watching him closely. I do remember noticing him playing pretty well and wondering if he was getting D-1 interest and if SMU would ever want him. I guess I have my answer now. This is the earliest committment I can remember to SMU in awhile. I wonder what prompted the verbal now. Usually only blue chips commit this early. There must be a story here. No reason to be negative about Sloan, but you have to wonder if we could have waited until after the summer to make this offer.

This guy can put the ball in the hoop and hits the glass in the dallas metroplex that means he has to be pretty talented, heopefully he can help us bring in some other good players.

Through 19 games he's averaging 19 pts, 9 rebs
Gets to the free throw line 8 times a game
Shooting 65% from the floor and the line
Only 1 turnover a game for a player who shoots twice as often as anyone on the team
hasn't shot a 3 all season

Not bad for a Junior.

Check the recruiting board for information on Alex Malone, another 2007 commitment that Tubbs has just obtained. It looks like he is really building an exciting team for the coming years. I think his progress may warrant a contract extension at the end of the season!
