He would be a good addition to any Texas team's staff...

I imagine after doing the California crazy routine, he wanted to get back to the Texas-version of sanity.

Not sure why they would replace Patterson he seems like he is doing a pretty good job.

Hahaha I know I was just screwing around - but I would have thought he could get a head job somewhere.
Maybe he just wants to take a back seat for a bit back in Texas - should be a good hire for the froggies.

Wonder if he'll even get to call plays. Meacham wasn't.

Who was? It wasn't Cumbie: http://www.espn.com/college-football/st ... oordinator
"He shared offensive coordinator duties at TCU with Sonny Cumbie, who coached quarterbacks but did not call plays."

Meacham was the play caller. Patterson is going to have Cumbie call them next year. That was the reason Meacham looked elsewhere. Meacham also coached receivers. I assume that is what Dykes will do this next season.

Re: Sonny Dykes Headed to TCU
Wow, so Meacham was getting demoted at TCU and Dykes is taking his demoted spot. At least it's more responsibility than Sarkisian had at Bama before taking over as OC.
Re: Sonny Dykes Headed to TCU
That's a good pick-up for TCU. Good for them.
That being said I would keep him in mind as a replacement for Morris if he jumps ship after this year.
