NOT A POLITICAL COMMENT....

Interesting that the new POTUS has chosen to bypass 'traditional' media sources via use of Twitter, and at the minimum bypass perceived 'hostile' outlets. It has changed the playing field in that realm.

SMU needs any media exposure, but if this is in fact sloppy or false sourcing, little missy can be marginalized. I doubt she has he weight of Helen Thomas in the media pantheon.

I wouldn't mark either of those as "insignificant". Carroll made strides last year and Scott had potential.

If you look at the attached link, it is pretty easy to figure out who left. Looking at who left, it seems that Nikki made a mess of things. Did all of those guys leave because of drug tests? Absolutely not.

With the exception of M. Scott, none of the players who left were starters or likely to be starters or likely to be key contributes ever. Many of them would have struggled to make the 3 deep and at least one seems to have been a walk-on. Every year, they are the kind of players that leave a program.

Example: D. Colbert would have been (at best) 4th team QB next year. He was never going to the Starter. I expected him to transfer (probably to FCS) seeking PT.
