A Modest Lenten Proposal

Postby birddogger » Thu Feb 23, 2017 11:19 am

Although I am at best only a cafeteria Christian, I resolve each year to abstain from a perceived vice during the 40 days of Lent.

This year, I have decided to abstain from posting about the Death Penalty or the UCLA fiasco, and to avoid to the best of my ability reading any threads about those topics.

I think it would help the collective pysche of the PF board if others participated. Perhaps it’s a good first step for those of you with PTSD who can’t seem to walk away from the ledge. And may I suggest that all of us get an early jump on Lent by canning these topics immediately?

Any takers?

that's the negative about College Basketball-every school's season ends in a crushing loss except the National Champs-no Pineapple Bowl victory to enjoy during the off-season

I can adjust to losing a close game in the NCAA's most years. That generally means we have won 20 plus games. This goes for WBB also.

Now, how about the pain of only nine wins in football. Oh that would hurt so bad.

I'm just going to go with the usual annual virgin sacrifice.

Lent isn't until March 1 - so your good for now.
