I know the benches were in their current location under Doherty, because when I graduated my buddy and I intentionally got our season tickets behind the bench to watch him break clipboards.

That was newish too, it was an $800k or $1mm "deal" we got second hand or an order that fell through with another customer. It was years into the HD age, you basically couldn't get a scoreboard without it, but somehow SMU secured one and paid out the [deleted] for it.

I shook my head when they revealed that monstrosity.

Looks like all of the bleachers are pushed back, except behind the benches.

I think when they redid the floor a few seasons before they redid Moody, they just laid a new one on top of the old one. This meant the bleachers could only roll out a few rows.

Yep. Volleyball continued to use the old floor. For basketball season they just put the new floor on top. One of the most bush league decisions SMU has ever made, and that's saying A LOT.
