DMN Recruiting Lists

I noticed that we are still on the list for WR Evan Fentriss of Southlake Carroll (#94) and RB Kelvin Thompson of Mineral Wells (#82). If we don't get either of those two it looks like we will have Burley (#59) and Crosby (#83) off the all area list, no top 100 all state, and, of course, no top 100 national. I don't feel this class is bad, but it would be nice to see us be competitive for the elite in the Dallas area, which Bennett said would be his emphasis when he first arrived at SMU.

I would also like to see more recruiting in the midwest. Since SMU gets most of its out-of-state student body from this area, it seems like we should be able to pull a few top players from there also. Chicago, Kansas City, and St. Louis are two areas that come to mind. The University of Missouri, for instance, has a hard time keeping the top kids from St. Louis in-state. Most leave for greener pastures. Of course, with the drought we have been going through its not so green around here, but these are big city kids that might be open to going to a big city out of state!

Maybe next year, we can improve the record, make it to a bowl, and get some top commitments from both in-state and out!
