Here's one comment from their intelligent fan base:
"a great chance to boo SMU once again. It will be so sweet to see them lose in either the first or second round.
It won't help that OSU is playing sometime on Friday.
My prediction is that the same a@@@e fans for SMU that went to the Reynolds Center will show up again. I don't think SMOO fans travel en masse- to many cocktail parties to attend. And Tulsa (sadly) is not a destination for the Big D types.
When they chant S-M-U I hope that the TU fans in attendance will respond appropriately. I will."
Tulsa has fans?

Gold star for the two song references, totally apropos! A spirit with a vision, is a dream with a mission.

They thought they could get an NBA team. Delusional.

Correct, after OKC built an arena then got the hornets then later the thunder, Tulsa thought if they built a nice arena they would be guaranteed a NBA or NHL team. I think the only tenant is a AA ECHL team, also know they WNBA team played their for a while. Only thing it has now is concerts and monster truck rallies the biggest day of the year for Tulsans is the 1 preseason thunder game they get a year. Not lying people take off work at noon that day, to get ready for the game. They get reservations at fancy restaurants and then go to the game.

Tulsa is actually a great city. There obviously isn't as much to do as in Dallas, but there are plenty of great places to go if you're there for a weekend. Also, I think we have the nicest people in the world (outside of the delusional Tulsa "fans"). I hope everyone has a fun time while they're here.

This just isn't true. This was part of a long-term downtown plan that included many other things. Tulsa definitely isn't trying to follow OKC. Besides, we're a better city

Times change. Unless there is a major tournament at Southern Hills, the biggest sports day used to be in late March when the Drillers would host an MLB team in an exhibition game.

this is true, CHK arena was built on a budget. With no major full time tenant when built no reason to add all the bells and whistles.
