AAC next yearModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower AAC next yearDawkins has got a load of talent sitting out this year at UCF so they could be more of a force next year. UConn has a top notch recruit class and Cincinnati will be good. Houston has a nice recruiting class coming to them. Tubby Smith will be bringing in his first true recruiting class as will Dunleavy at Tulane. Unknowns to me are Temple and Tulsa.

Re: AAC next yearNext year's OOC schedule is going to be a beast as well. Hopefully we'll get Semi back.
We have USC at home? TCU?And Battle for Atlantis( Zona, Nova, Purdue, NC State Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Northern Iowa) Who else? http://www.cbssports.com/college-basket ... tis-field/ Last edited by dcpony on Sat Mar 18, 2017 2:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: AAC next yearTulsa's whole squad was new this year so at the very least they should be incrementally better.
Temple has some dudes and.... could they be worse? http://temple.247sports.com/Season/2017 ... ll/Commits I'm guessing it's the hot seat for Ollie and Dunphy next season. Party at The Wopper!
Re: AAC next year
Temple and UConn had some major injuries this season. They'll be back.
Re: AAC next yearLook forward to finding our our entire schedule for '17-'18 and waiting to see what Semi does. He is the lynch pin to whether we'll be dancing again next year or not and it would be nice to refocus on the future after another tough season ending loss.

Re: AAC next yearEntire conference might be better, with the possible exception of SMU but we will have a very competitive team and I assume we will still be very tough to beat at Moody.
Re: AAC next year
If we get Semi back good chance we are better. Without him it will be wait and see, but we have alot of talent so would just depend on the improvement of Shake and Jarrey, how the transfers look (both could be stud's), and if we can get a solid grad-transfer. With Semi we are likely projected conference champs or split with Cincy, without likely preseason 3rd. Maybe 4th. I don't expect UH to be any better. They lose Dotson who was their best rebounder and an elite scorer. Gray is up in the air according to UH people. They might not be much worse, but cant see them being much better. Cincy should be at the top again. UConn should be good, but as always with KO teams its wait and see. UCF should be real solid near the top. I expect Temple & Tulsa should be better, interesting to see how much. And Memphis struggled mightly down the stretch and has to hang onto Dedric and rumors that Crawford might grad-transfer.
Re: AAC next yearThe conference will be much better next year, which is great. It will ramp the intensity up for the home games and makes the entire season better to follow.
Are the UCF guys eligible before xmas break, or after? I could see us struggling while we wait for eligibility, and if UCF struggles as well, the conference is going to get a bad rap again and end up with only 2 or 3 bids.
Re: AAC next year
They will be eligible all season. The big, Allen, and Dawkins son sat out all year like Jimmy Whitt did.
Re: AAC next year
What does this mean? Is Gray maybe not coming back?
Re: AAC next year
Houston people are saying he is gone
Re: AAC next yearthese days you've got to wait to see whose coming back. Tulane already has 3 guys transferring-only one was a starter-Kain Harris. Kam Reynolds has been rumored to be looking to graduate transfer. USF had an inside big announce his transfer last week. Similar scenarios at other schools. Everybody looking for the bigger, better deal

Re: AAC next year
Well that's a buzzkill but can you blame him for not wanting to play his home games in some high school gym? Party at The Wopper!
Re: AAC next yearYeah and Gray is graduating in May (don't think he cares to get another degree). A lot of them are saying that he knows he likely isn't going to get alot better in college or get drafted and wants to start making money whether it is in the D-league or overseas.
Also, it doesn't help they will be playing in a random gym and on a team that hasn't made the tourney in any of his years. I'm sure Sampson will pull out his best sales job to try and keep Gray.
Re: AAC next yearKelvin has to recruit for the future. Kinda like LB on day one.
