Its clear now that the Jank called a play with about 5 options-the play probably started 3-4 seconds too late but it allowed Shake to basically determine who took the final shot. See Daily Campus article

Yeah, I rewatched and - with context - you can see it. Execution wasn't good and USC's defense was solid, but I don't think it was the calamity I first perceived.
