Left to take the Marshall High job so who will be our main man to recruit local HS players now? No more local ties on our staff.

You're a riot-but he was our only local HS coach product.

We brought in Jeff T. to fill his role. Not as strong in the Metroplex, but good East Texas ties and all of these coaches know each other. We'll be fine and good luck to Claude in his new job.

You mean besides the guy who has a history with half the HS coaches in Texas and at one time a formal relationship with every HS in the state?

Losing Mathis hurts given his strong ties to Dallas. My hope is that this staff has had enough time at this point to establish relationships locally to fill the void he is leaving. Traylor is a big time add to this staff though. Wish we had him and Mathis on the staff.

Am I the only one who thinks Mathis may have been a "welcomed" attrition? And I mean that with no disrespect to him but it seemed he was being eased out to me.

For what it's worth, two high school coaching staffs were at practice Tuesday: Jesuit (Dallas) and DeSoto
