Beach VolleyballI noticed on "Sports Center" that some conferences have women's beach volleyball. So, it must now be sanctioned by the NCAA. When are we going to add it. Talk about a potential revenue sport.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Beach VolleyballYes it started as a D1 emerging sport in 2011 and was fully sanctioned by the NCAA in 2016. You get six scholarships and it obviously is not that expensive. It would be a nice add for sure.
A quick search shows Tulane and Central Arkansas are the only "close" DI schools participating so far, but Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, and UAB have teams somewhat near to Dallas as well. There are 54 total D1 programs so it is definitely being adopted quickly compared to some other emerging sports. Shake It Off Moody

Re: Beach VolleyballI don't even care about wins and losses just a team that makes 18 year old linemen think SMU is the place for me.

Re: Beach VolleyballIf we're talking about female beach volleyball, it could be a good revenue sport, and help with football and basketball recruiting. If we're talking about men's beach volleyball; then the Sig Ep's house is over there, for your information.

Re: Beach VolleyballWe don't need anymore men's sports. This helps with Title IX.

Re: Beach VolleyballIf I am not mistaken....TCU has a beach volleyball team.
Re: Beach Volleyball
You are right! They just started it last season. Seems like an obvious add for SMU let's do it. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Beach VolleyballDoesn't fit the smu culture. It's all about equestrian, rowing, golf, tennis, cross country.
Re: Beach VolleyballDrop mens and women's soccer, replace with mens lacrosse and women beach volleyball.
Save 5 M on a new soccer field nobody cares about, and add two revenue producing sports, both of which overlap in our target student geography. ,and one of which we already have a d-1 facility for. It would be easy to be an AD. Just listen to me and implement my suggestions.
Re: Beach VolleyballI need an application for women's volleyball recruiter.

Re: Beach Volleyball
perfect solution. I checked TCU's beach volleyball schedule and we just follow their lead.
