I've never written a letter to RGT or any non-sports admin, but this may be the time. Part of what makes the blvd great is the connection between the current students and the alumni. Before 2000, that didn't exist at SMU. It's a place where we can all share in the fun with the rest of Dallas. Fencing off a portion is akin to putting them at the children's table or in timeout when they've done nothing wrong. Utter stupidity.

Usually go to games with the same group, but once a year I'll wind up taking someone who's never been. I always end my "tour" of the Blvd. at the frat tents and my guests' minds are blown. We also usually manage to score a beer from one of the tents.

1. The area from the flagpole to Dallas hall will be fenced in with only one entrance
2. Fraternities cannot supply their own beer
3. Beer will be sold individually at stadium prices by Aramark ($10 a beer)
4. You can’t leave or come in to the fenced in area with any alcohol

Can anyone confirm or refute this? Bueller? Bueller? Anybody at the ATO house?

I'm nostalgic about my frat days at SMU as anybody, but it's not my hide that's got to deal with 17 to 22 year olds running around drunk on school property and their parents who get the lawyer when their son decides to do something stupid. Did anything actually warrant this?

This has been confirmed. MC board and athletics as well as SMU PD have opposed it but it is a Student Affairs issue and decision.
