I am happy. I can make the 10 hour round trip and get home by 3 am.

My problem with that is that I am amped up after a game. I used to stay in a local hotel but found I could not get to sleep until about 2:00 or 3:00 am. I would wake around 7:00, eat a bite and head home. So I would spend $100 for 4 hours of restless sleep and lose a day of the weekend.

I then started driving to Mt Pleasant and sleep there, but still was not really tired.

Now with satellite radio and especially the new Beatles channel, I can drive back, get home between 2 and 3, get 4 or 5 hours sleep and still have some weekend left. And I saved a couple of hundred dollars.

true.... do you always do the whole round trip in one day or do you sometimes come in on Friday?

All depends on the kickoff. Many times (depending on SW schedules) with a 2:00 start I can fly up and back same day for minimal cost.

Last year I started same day round trip and it was fine. For an 11:00 start I will probably come down Friday unless SW has an early am flight.

Mrydel is built of stronger stuff than I. After each SMU game I have to down my thoughts in the bar at the Magnolia Hotel, THEN drive back to Arkansas after I've sobered up the next day.

I'm gonna be in the Northeast this year. Might use that as an opportunity to see us at Annapolis - hell of a chance to see a historic site while watching the alma mater play. Good stuff.

Don't miss it! Great atmosphere and there's usually a decent SMU crowd. Now if we can only get a W!
