Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upJon Rothstein
Early summer buzz out of SMU has Ponies working on 3G attack with Arkansas transfer Jimmy Whitt at PG, Milton and McMurray on wings. Potent. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upEvery pass to McMurray will sail out of bounds until mid December.

Love it. You are not wrong. Interesting thought though once conference rolls around. Get Shake off ball for spells of the game and get two knock down shooters on the wings (Shake and McMurray) with an explosive athlete at the PG spot in Whitt. Then Jarrey and Agau at 4/5. Would be a very dangerous lineup. Would need Jarrey to play tough and Agau to be a board monster. We will need at least two of the freshman to be ready to give us solid minutes. Real excited for the season and it is still June.
Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upWe have had some very good players at SMU over a long period of time, but I cannot think of a time, at least in my tenure, where we have been able to reload talent and stay very good or actually get even better. It is fun to watch.

I kinda wrote him off when he didn't visit pretty quickly. But yeah....we're totally screwed now. ![]() Party at The Wopper!

Mighty white of Rothstein to help Jank with the lineup. It will be interesting to see how the rotation plays out come January. There are so many potential lineups and it really seems like depth won't be as much of an issue. From what I read here and there it may take Chargois some time so we may still be a bit stressed underneath. Party at The Wopper!

It will be really fun to see how this team fits together. I have to think based on skill/experience and what i've heard that our best lineup would be Shake, Whitt, McMurray, Foster and Agau. Doesn't mean that will be the starting lineup, but maybe the lineup we finish with in games. I have heard the same on Chargois, but I think that was kinda the thought. Hopefully he can give some good minutes here and there, but will definitely likely look to Ray for more minutes.
Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upI am pretty jazzed about a Whitt, Shake, McMurray, Foster, Agau lineup. That will be very hard to stop.
The other thing I like about that lineup is that I feel like you could sub Emelogu whenever Whitt needs a break and still get enough ball handling and dishing and still have multiple spot up shooters to make shots. And Landrum when he's ready. And swap Douglas for Shake or McMurray and maintain the shooter mix. Obvious concerns with that lineup about facing teams with skilled big men, but that would be lethal on the offensive end.
Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-up
This lineup could be very intriguing with three interchangeable guards who can all fill it up. Also, when you sub Landrum for anyone one of the three we can push the pace and break often. Jank seems to adjust his style to our strengths. I can't wait to see how much he tries to push the tempo with Landrum in the game. I'm optimistic Ray will be the guy who surprises. A Ben Moore type forward who can defend and get up and down the floor in transition. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upWhitt has never even been mentioned as a PG. Curious to see where Rothstein is getting his info.
Re: Jon Rothstein - 2017-'18 SMU Line-upIt won't be easy duplicating the shooting percentages that Semi and Sterling left with. I'll readily admit we have depth and a ton of options but do we have shooters THAT good?
