Boulevard a mess!
I'm really disappointed that SMU hasn't done any maintenance on the Boulevard. It's complete dirt, not a blade of grass! Really bad!

Huh? Our area was great as always. Just wear shoes and you will be fine.

Not much grass wise grows under live oaks. Too much shade.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Re: Boulevard a mess!
I have wondered if we should just cut down all the trees so we can have better grass for the boulevard.

Is it too much to trim them back and put some seed down? We pay a lot for a spot in the vard. It's an ugly dirt lot! I can't see that any maintenance has been done over the years

They seed it every year but for some reason a lot of people come there on football Saturdays and trample it down. You will see the rye coming up as the weather cools.

My gardener uses monkey grass, which works just fine. Maybe they should try it?

Boulevard a mess!
I have yet to find a monkey willing to give up his grass.

And no - you don't pay a lot for a spot on the vard. Nobody pays much - it's the best deal in town.

Ridiculous suggestion.
Artificial Trees, sure, that's OK by me, but Artificial Grass would look just plain tacky.
Now if the trees were Harvard Red and the grass Yale Blue....maybe.

I noticed a few insects in my spot. Who do I call to get those removed?
