hoping for that Frisco Toyota Bowl bid?
really the key is to get a decent, interesting matchup which is pretty tough at the AAC level. Our AAC brethren are scheduled to play Old Dominion, NTSU, Marshall, Coastal Carolina, Idaho, Eastern Michigan et al. I'd rather play Air Force or Colorado St than those type programs

Liberty Bowl against a lower SEC would be nice. I think we have a secondary tie to the Liberty Bowl don't we?

Yes "The American Athletic has secondary partnerships with the AutoZone Liberty and Camping World Independence." http://collegefootballnews.com/2017/01/ ... -2017-2018

Lol at the overwrought exaggerated claims that we should decline the Hawaii Bowl if we got that invite. I'm sure most of those people aren't totally serious, and there's no question I would prefer a bowl game that most of the fan base could attend, but man those comments sound funny.
"Would you like your football players to get an extra month of practice time, a free fun trip to a Hawaiian island, another game of experience for younger players, national exposure as the only game on during its time slot, and the bragging rights to recruits that you played in a bowl?"
"Nah, none of our fans can make it, so we'd rather not bother."

It would be disappointing if we wound up in Hawaii again. I'm surprised no one is slotting us for the Frisco Bowl. AAC does things geographically, so that bowl seems like a lock for us, IMO.

True, but most projections have UH in that game. If SMU wants that game, beating UH would help.
