The BCS advantage

Postby LA_Mustang » Tue Jan 31, 2006 7:37 pm

Only four of the top fifty, two in the top forty-five DFW area recruits are committed to non-BCS schools.

#28 Clint Renfro - TCU
#43 Phillip Burley - SMU
#47 McKay Jacobson - BYU
#48 Josh Vernon - TCU

Even with TCU's recent success they are only able to land two in the top fifty??

Stallion, as I recall, you went on and on about BU recruiting back in /0405. As I recall, you talked up how BU was passing everybody with such quality stud recruits as...

David Gettis WR 6-4 198 Los Angeles (Dorsey) Calif.
Standout two-sport athlete will play football and run track for the Bears ... Committed to Baylor during the 2005 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the first time the school landed a participant from the prestigious event

What about David Gettis (CAL.)?

The world track athlete who was signed by BU as a WR?

When I last checked, he does not appear on either the track roster OR the FB roster of Baylor.

The recruiting classes are ranked on signatures... not enrollment.

Unlike BU, TCU, etc., most of our guys show up and hang around!

he's resigning with Baylor tommorrow-there was an issue about the NCAA Clearinghouse that Baylor fans claim is now resolved. Don't really remember being a Baylor fanatic. They've done better under their new coach but they still finished last in Big 12 South recruiting by about 40 spots. I clearly stated that there was no reason SMU couldn't be competitive with them in the opener. I do thing they have made significant strides in comparison to SMU in the last few years and that should become more evident in future meetings.
