Rhythm Room Bar

Post by PonyTime »

Scatershooting wondering about the Rythem Room bar on Yale (now SMU) Blvd.

Would I be correct in remembering that after one paid a cover at this place pitchers would be 25 cents? My memory is hazy - perhaps it was too many quarter pitchers at Rythem Room...

This is the place that is now the Green Elephant - correct? (Stempys, Stone Pony, Home,...)

The place I remember (late 90s-early 00s) was the Across the Street Bar. I believe it was a $5 cover and $.25 pitchers. it was eventually stopped by MADD. I believe it is was where the sushi place and pizza place now sit.

I definitely remember that one. And the Ice House next door - complete hole - but very lax on the I.D. checking...

You forgot the Harlequin Rugby murals. The Rhythym Room was great. It once had a banner for the highest Jagermeister sales in the United States.

I have to agree. In my college days it was 5 years for possession of any amount. Now times have changed and I have trouble seeing it more dangerous than alcohol. And tax the hell out of it.

Should you attribute that to Home Simpson?

Huge opportunity for tax revenue and another government run (or at least heavily regulated) business

Stone Pony and penny-pitcher Wednesday nights. Place let anyone in and cover was like $5. Rumored to have many a great night there...but I can’t really remember!
