The Patterson defense has been falling off for years, and the defense we just witnessed looked pretty mediocre as well. What is supposedly so great about it? Average DE's, only 1 good LB, DB's falling for trick plays, and giving up 300 yards to 'can't hit the broad side of a barn' Ben Hicks!
Can only imagine what Okie St & Oklahoma are going to do to that 'great' defense.
Great call footballdad. If you asked all NCAA coaches about the greatest defensive coaches in the game just about all would have Gary Patterson at or near the top of the list. Keep betting against Gary Patterson's defense. He takes quality athletes who were high school QBs, TEs, RBs, and FBs and consistently beats teams with 4 and 5 star talent

Gary Patterson is a jackwad respected by no one in the business. At the end of that day, that's what matters most -- the respect of your peers.

What matters most are rankings, championships and wins, and fatterson keeps delivering there. No one cares what the other "peers" think, TCU is top 10 and most likely will play for a Big 12 title.

Men with honor care what peers think. And it's not as if success and honor are mutually exclusive.

Gary Patterson is very well respected in the coaching circles. Opposing fans hate him, likely because he wins a lot.

You speak of 'honor' & 'respect' and bash Patterson while defending Bliss & Briles. I agree with smusic00, you are clueless as to what his peers think.

My Goodness, we have devolved into defending Patterson. How low have we sunk?

The only reason I hate Patterson is because he is at TCU and not SMU. Likewise, I loathe Turrner because he is at SMU and not TCU.

I hate Patterson because he is a tool. His peers agree. Many great coaches are not tools. If Patterson was not a tool I would dislike him because he is at TCU, but because he is a tool I can hate him with impunity.
If you hate Turner because he is at SMU you may not understand what a university president is supposed to do.

Really? Not because he is a disrespectful a-hole to everyone opposite him, who puts winning above player safety and probably lied about drug test results bc he didn’t want to suspend his starters?
