Gotta find a wrinkle and market to it. We have a business school and communications program... Utilize them to devise something.

And seriously, get the frats engaged somehow. Don't want to hear some [deleted] about time conflicts. Find a way to make the game a social happening and maximize the impact. Prizes for most likes to pictures at the game, Instagram vote contests, Twitter, etc. Make it something that is talked about that night at the bar and on Monday in class. It will take some time, but the athletic and student affairs departments must make this a primary issue to grow student pride and program support. Micro impact is more butts in seats. Macro impact long term is greater alumni giving and participation.

Other schools with basically the same enrollments/alumni get errr done.
So it is not as easy as the lame tired excuse of booo whooo "student enrollment/alumni".
It is conference, marketing, game day attractiveness, and other issues......capiche?

Its really simple

1) 30 plus years of being one of the worst college football programs in the nation
2) Zero conference championships since the mid 80's
3) Zero weeks in the Top 25 since the mid 80's
4) Zero first round draft picks since the mid 80's
5) Total annihilation when we play former rivals (Tech, A&M, Baylor, TCU)
6) Arizona State
7) 2014 season

We've lost people aged 25-50 forever. They're gone. Only hope is try and start building something for the future generations so that maybe they'll have an attachment to the program. SMU was among the least rewarding college football programs to follow for 30 years. Combine that with a relatively small student body playing in a conference no one cares about and boom..... This is what you get.

As a younger alum - I can go on and on about this (and have before) but at this point I've decided it's best to focus on the largest issue and let the others sort themselves out.

We play nobody and it just isn't compelling. Combine that with no 10 win seasons and the allure of being ranked and this is what you have to work your way through. TCU did it. As much as it hurts, we have so much to learn from them and will have to go through the same process and pain if we want success on any level.

Also, Rick Hart blows and is way in over his head.

I had a dream that SMU and UCF win out until we play them at home Nov 4th. 2 ranked teams. College Gameday in front of Dallas Hall...maybe that'll be the day people actually go to the game.
