SMU Launches State-Wide Branding Campaign
From SMUMustangs.com:
SMU Launches State-Wide Branding Campaign
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Athletics and SMU are launching a state-wide branding campaign, featuring billboards, train and bus wraps and airport signage. Nearly 20 billboards will go up across Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Waco, while Dallas public transportation and Love Field will also get SMU branding.
"One of the roles of college athletics is to provide positive visibility and instill a strong sense of pride for SMU and the Dallas community," said SMU Director of Athletics Rick Hart. "These efforts will dramatically increase the exposure of our brand to fans, alums, potential students and the general public."
Multiple DART trains and buses will be adorned with SMU football and men's and women's basketball student-athletes, with over 100,000 Metroplex residents riding DART daily.
Another highlight of the program will be a 12-foot-by-12-foot sign at Dallas Love Field, where any of the 325,000 weekly travelers entering or leaving the terminal will be greeted by SMU branding.
"As I've said since the day I was hired, we are focused on the state of Texas," said SMU Head Football Coach Chad Morris. "This exposure will only help us as we spread our brand across Texas, and I know Coach (Tim) Jankovich, Coach (Travis) Mays and all our coaches are as excited as I am about this project."
The five-month project would not have been possible without the generous support of donors, including Bill Hutchison, [deleted] Anderson, Steve Lindley, Bill Armstrong, Steve Folsom, Bruce Robson, Steve Arata, Luke Crosland and others, and the hard work of another SMU alumnus, Lott McIlhenny.
Those interested in giving to this or other SMU Athletics projects are invited to contact Matt Peters at 214-768-7009 or [email protected].

Really good news to hear this branding campaign is taking off....
It always pissed me off when I was in the Love Field baggage claim area
and there's that large TCU sign...saying "Welcome to Horned Frog Country"....
when SMU is like 5 miles away...right in our backyard rub in our face!

So, why no billboards in Fort Worth? Yet, interestingly, Waco is included. I'm in the mid-cities. I'd like to see them here. For example, Trinity always has some good players.

Ponypride, probably time to change your ridiculously outdated filters. Or at the very least, list the generous man's name that donated.

I'm glad to see this is happening. The men's bball team deserves the love after all they've done and the football team needs the pub.
