Butch Worley-I do believe was one of the head investigators for the NCAA and had direct involvement in several of the ongoing investigations of SMU in the 1980s. Just thought some of you might want to know that.

Any way to find out for sure? If so, it becomes relevant. If not, I'd hate to eliminate the guy (I don't know his credentials) even from my own wish list because of inaccurate information.

I confirmed he is a former Director of Enforcement for the NCAA but I still think that he was just an high level investigator in the mid 1980s.

I will pull out my copy of "A Payroll to Meet." Maybe I am making this up, but the name is starting to sound familiar. When you think about it, he'd be perfect. To the faculty, he'd be a friggin' folk hero.

I think Clark Welsh, with his brother Craig as the Assistant AD, is the ideal candidate.

Worley's name doesn't interest me. Montgomery, while ideal I don't know, could bring solid experience. If he could do and bring what the ram's club brings to unc toward SMU, I would be happy. Question is that would he leave a sweet gig in chapel hill for the big D?

Go Ponies!
