Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaI heard a story about him drinking 220 yards of beer while in school
Shake It Off Moody
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaHe came too long after me for me to recall.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaHe was 26 going on 27 when he enrolled and I don't remember him playing much on the good mid-fifties teams. He was rated an excellent ball handler IIRC and was so depicted in a Bill McClanahan cartoon on the sports page of the DMN.
I had him in mind from the question on the quiz but probably could not have named him even with a lot more thought.
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaName this team surrounding E.O. Doc Hayes back in the 60's.
My granddad had seats on the 2nd row of the stands above the scorer's table. Saw Bumstead, Loudermilk, Hollman, Beasley, Miller, and many more greats from these seats. Great memories.
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaAnother pic from then.
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaSince there has been no response to these team pics from the 60's, I Googled and found out some names, but no numbers.
From 1965-1967 I believe #15 is Denny Holman I think #23 is Charlie Beasley I think #11 is Bob Begert. Any help out there ?
Re: Great SMU Baketball Trivia
Carroll Hooser was part of that team but I seem to remember a receding hairline so can't pick him out
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaJohn Higganbotham (sp?) was another forward on that team but not sure what his number was. What stands out to me in that last pic is the old student section with everyone standing. Ah...the good old days!
Re: Great SMU Baketball TriviaHere is another team picture of that era:
