The (inevitable) Official UCF Homecoming Attendance Thread

There is at least 'some' buzz with bowl berth and ticket push. I've had a few people actually ask me about the game and tickets this week, which never happens. There are more than a few UCF alums in Dallas.

With all of that:

I also had friends that usually come to the tailgate inquire about tickets. Never had that happen before. Should see about 500 new/unfamiliar faces in the crowd.

Bad time to have "buzz" given what we're about to face. Gonna get ugly. Too bad this buzz wasn't happening before about to play a "bad" team.

Look, I'm very excited we are bowl eligible and OF COURSE I think this staff is 100% the right one for us and have done amazing things. But we are 6-2 and bowl eligible because we haven't beaten anybody all that great (Cincy was good, Tulsa is "ok"). We are NOW about to face some very good teams right when all eyes are on us, and I just don't think we're ready yet to beat the top of our conference. Flame away, but that's what I'm saying. It's just a shame what's about to happen. I give money, I go to games and bring people with me, I talk up the program (I NEVER tell anyone what I'm saying right now to people I talk with outside of this board). I think our offense can score enough to keep us competitive but our defense just doesn't exist. IF we get lots of turnovers, that's the only saving grace. If our offense can score into the 40s and our defense gets some picks (and maybe a score themselves), we have a chance. Otherwise, I'm sticking with my prediction of 55-21 type game, in front of a large(r) home crowd.

I hope I'm very wrong and this team comes out with a HUGE chip and kicks [deleted]. But this ain't Houston (where a lot of players have personal reasons to play well) and they are much better coached (than the houston team last year).

Had several classmates inquire about going to the game tomorrow. First time in years. I think we could have a pretty decent showing.

One would hope that after 3 years of solid coaching, Morris would be able to make a game plan for his players so we don’t look like we’re completely [Deleted]’in the bed. I think $3.4-or-whatever-M buys that expectation.

Merit-tests against UCF for both team and fans haven’t gone so well for SMU football...if there was ever a time to “pull out all the stops” it’s this one.

I think the stands could get filled by 25k people due to it being homecoming and top 25 match up. My hope is the team can stay competitive and if anything maybe get an early lead to go into the half. Otherwise if it's starts getting ugly then I can see it regressing to 10k.

I was really surprised how many people, students included, who cut out at halftime of the homecoming game when we were up here at uc. They had about 30k for the game and maybe half that when we went into ot.
