I'd love to think we've got slightly figured out option football but a) we haven't and b) we don't have the perimeter speed/athleticism at linebacker to stop it.

This is the most beatable Navy team in the past 10 years; however, we still do not have the defensive pieces to stop them. They run and challenge you to stop them. We have demonstrated all season that we cannot consistently stop the run from any offensive formation let alone the varied formations used by Navy. Our line backer and corners will be key and have not proven this year that they are up to the level of stopping an offensive style none has faced in their careers other than Navy. We will need good weather to facilitate the passing attack, some turn overs and the D to play their best game of the year and even then they may grind us up.

We did hold the AAC's top Rusher to about 4 yards per carry last week. Not the same as stopping option attack admitedly. But we do have more rotation of decent Defensive Lineman. Not too many answers at LB. Our Safeties seem to be playing hot and cold as in one plays Hot and the other one is cold. We need both to be solid in coming weeks. Clemmons has gone from one of the worst defenders to one of the best in last 2 weeks. Onu had one of the greatest and worst games in SMU History during the same game last weekend-that was strange. Need consistency

That Navy backup QB appeared to have a pretty good arm. Passes from Navy worry me as much as the running, since they are usually wide open. Have to hope for misfires.
