33 games in and....

Still only one signature win-last year against Houston. And if CM thinks this is a hard job ask Sumlin about the stress the Aggie job comes with. Be careful for what you might wish for.

If you can't see the major improvements and upgrades between the absolute dumpster fire JJ left and now, I can't help you.

Jim, I disagree. CM had very little division one talent, a negative culture etc thanks to June. He has changed the culture and has us being competitive against tough teams. It’s a night and day difference. Despite this past game, we are going solidly in the right direction.

Now maybe the aggies or other P5 teams think the same thing too and we will be lucky to keep this thing trucking along.

I didn't say anything about major improvements which are obvious- I just stated a fact. To me CM is coaching this year with the clear intent to move on i.e. burning redshirt years on guys like Medlock and Page who weren't really needed. That is a sign to me. And there is nothing wrong with that since this city (and student body) appears to care less about local college football. Who wouldn't like to coach in front of a packed house. And lastly I am not Jim Hagle- I just took his name in tribute to his infamous 93 yard TD run against Texas which I witnessed as a youngster. One of the great runs in SMU history.

We are playing a bunch of freshman on special teams because we were atrocious on Special Teams last year. The best young athletes have addressed a special deficiency on our team which needed to be done. Kayce Medlock, Shaine Hailey, Delano Robinson, Elijah McQueen and Justin-Guy Robinson have the DB/LB skills that are needed. In fact, with the depth SMU has at RB including a potential super sleeper in Angleton's Tamerik Williams I wouldn't be shocked if Kayce Medlock was given a look at CB in the spring nor would I be shocked if Brandon Benson was looked at Safety.I think they may be better athletes than some of our starters at DB. We are going to be 5 deep next year in super talented RBs but losing games in the Defensive backfield. Both were shutdown DBs in high school. Page despite not having a catch has had multiple key blocks that led to TDs. Based on preseason reports he clearly earned the spot--they thought he was ready to step up and make big plays-he may well be struggling in learning the intricacies of a new position but he flashed hot in the fall

If we are relying on true freshman to out perform juniors or 5th year seniors on special teams, that's a major problem. It's not like these freshman were 4 and 5 star recruits. I admit our special teams have been much better the last couple of weeks than I've seen all year. Burning Page's red-shirt total waste.

If they can help us now let's use them. Tired of waiting around. This is the year we need to get to 8 if we can.

I have no problems burning redshirts since we will easily be recruiting over them in three years
