along that line SMU's 2015 8 man Defensive Class (that is down to 5 now) isn't doing us many favors. More concerning long term is the absence of our 3 top defensive recruits in the 2016 Class--(Badejo, Spears and McLaurin)

"Offense can be schemed, defense requires athletes", yeah right. Tell that to Patterson, and all the best defensive coaches in the country. Defense requires just as much 'scheming' or more, than offense. DC always trying to counteract what the opposing OC is running. Blitz packages, coverages, nickel packages, DLine twists, and on and on.

So hilarious, still trying to blame June. Even funnier when the best players (Lawler/Wyatt) are June recruits. This defense has 3 years of Morris & Van recruits/Jucos/transfers, and it's arguably as bad as the day he arrived. Stop making excuses and deflecting, you sound like Stallion. Bottom line, Van is in over his head, AND they have recruited poorly on that side of the ball. Who are the 1st/2nd/3rd year defensive difference makers? Potential impact players from the last recruiting class? Young guys all over the country making impacts, especially 2nd year guys. Tough for any true freshmen, but after that the excuses are gone for players with actual talent.

Gary, Biggurs, Scott, etc..........take a look at the DL for next year without Lawler & Gentry.......NOW THAT'S SCARY. Only one 300 pounder (McLaurin), who Stallion touted as a stud and immediate contributor, who can't even find the field in his first 2 years.

Make whatever excuses you want, but June has nothing to do with this poor defense 3 years into the Morris/Van regime.
