We will be a Top 10 offense next year too. We are especially going to see improvement in the Offensive Line as our younger lineman mature. We are stacked at RB. We have 2 potential All-conference and future NFL prospects at Receiver with numerous other highly recruited talented 2nd and 3rd stringers ready to contribute. We have a 2 year starter at QB who is going to erase the SMU passing game record book by mid-season of his Junior Year. Geez calm down-some of us know the talent on the Bench. Can't wait for Mike Woods to arrive for Spring Ball

The plan next year is to outscore our opponent.
The plan this year was to outscore our opponent.
The plan last year was to outscore our opponent.
You can scheme offense. Defense requires athletes. Did we forget that June did not recruit for 2 years? Look at the defensive starters and backups versus Tulane-majority starters were underclassmen. The majority of 2nd stringers were underclassmen.
The plan is to win with offense until the young defensemen can contribute and we can recruit better athletes on defense with a winning program.

pretty much what happened at Baylor. They sucked on Defense until about 6 years into their rebuild and even then game up 52 against UCF and 49 against Okie St late in the year. But as the Baylor program became cool when they beat OU and had Heisman QB, they began to get more talented defensers. Check out how bad they were in Art Briles 5th year. Surrendered over 42 points 6 times including 70 to West Virginia and 56 to UT. See link

I obviously disagree with those wearing the rose colored shades so I will say that we will not be better next year. I suspect we will be lucky to be 6-6 if VM is still here.
This year we were: #12 in total offense, #122 in total D, kickoff return D #104, punt return D #60, passing yds. allowed #121 and rushing yds allowed #112. Pretty sad when you are almost in the bottom 10% of all D categories in d1 fball.
I guess at the end of next year we will know who was right. The only caveat is if we happen to get a powder puff conference schedule next year.
The above numbers were taken from the official NCAA site.
