I expected this to happen at some point, I just didn't see it happening this year for some reason.

Lots of people on this board have a significantly higher opinion of Arkansas than I do. I view that program as marginally better than the "Washington Generals" of the SEC? They exist just so Alabama, LSU and whichever of the schools in the west that is having a good year can get a win and not hurt their strength of schedule.

All of that being said, I wish him well and thank him for what he did here. When he got here, we were at another really low point. We're a long way from that now and that is due to his hard work and dedication.

Left 1.5 recruiting classes away from getting this thing turned around, which is better than staying when we are 1.5 recruiting classes away from turning it around and not recruiting. If only June had left when ASU was interested we would already have a great football team.

This is precisely why I will take Todd Graham, Kevin Sumilin, Lane Kiffin, or one of the hotshot up and comers. Get them here, build on what we have and move on. None of them will stay until we improve attendance and become P5.

From cbs sports ....no Van....

Even bigger news for the Razorbacks could be who he brings with him. According to FootballScoop.com, Morris is targeting Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables for the same role with the Razorbacks. Venables has produced top 10 defenses nationally in each of the last four seasons, and the two close friends worked together at Clemson from 2012-14

No chance in hell Venables leaves Clemson for Arkansas

Depends on his relationship with Chad. He could come in as Asst. Head Coach and Chad could give some of his salary to Venables and still have a good increase. It is a proven good team.

Now Van can go back to being a DB coach, or D2 DCoordinator, where he belongs. Was in over his head from the start.

Would be quite a coup if Morris could lure Venables away from Clemson.

Todd Graham would be a huge mistake.

Getting Venables would be a coup for UA. If that happened, you could see UA competing with Auburn, A&M and LSU for 2nd place in the SEC West.
Ole Miss is toast for 4-5 years... MSU is breaking in a new coach from outside the area. So UA could make some strides.
