I love Kiffin for the job. He can coach, but also, he will bring attention to the program and might actually put some butts in the seats.

I actually would like to see Lane Kiffin here, too. He would be very entertaining and all future recruits know him.

Were Kiffins involved with the Dallas Cowboys? Forgive me as I don't follow NFL. But is there a Dallas connection here that might be a pull?

Kiffin will likely go to Oregon according to the rumor mill. I doubt he would leave Boca to come to SMU, but if he doesn't get hired by Oregon, who knows... He would certainly bring some publicity to SMU, but geez, what a [deleted].

I abstained from voting, because I believe most of them would do well here. Not a Mack fan, however, and I don't see Sumlin here because he likely isn't interested. Not sure what to think about Kiffin. I suppose that if you subscribe to the adage that "bad publicity is better than none," he's your guy. And it makes sense for him if he doesn't land a P5 job. But do we want that kind of pub?

Overall, I'm optimistic that we'll land a solid, smart coach who recruits manages a game well.

Monte (Lane's dad) worked for the Cowboys for a few seasons.

I see my coach on that list. Anderson is learning but he's still a little green. I think we might have given you a game if our QB hadn't gone down this year.

If you really want a Sunbelt opinion, go get Neal Brown at Troy. Back to back 10 win seasons and he seems to have his head screwed on right. Should be able to assemble a good staff and recruit as well.

Yes, I would be down with that. Someone said his buyout is large for some reason.

I'm not sure what his buyout is. Troy may have followed our lead. After losing three successful coaches in three years we put a huge buyout on Harsin. Boise paid us 1.75 million for him.

I can tell you that the Troy fanbase is nervous and I don't blame them. I think he's a winner.
