Agreed!
Re: McMurray
Would it not be McMurray's decision to make? Then approved by Jank/Hart? Besides...Hart's a little busy this weekend. Party at The Wopper!
Re: McMurrayI seriously doubt McMurray wants to sit out this season. And Hart is so busy he seemingly isn't getting anything done so far.
Re: McMurray
But the my question remains....WHO has the ultimate say? Athlete or school? Party at The Wopper!
Re: McMurrayThe athlete ultimately decides with direction from the coach.
Re: McMurrayThe coach has the ability to play the player. The player cannot go into a game on his own. Decision is 100% coach, but he should do it with the agreement of the player or the player might leave.

Re: McMurray
To me that leave the ultimate decision with the player...albeit knowing the consequences. Party at The Wopper!
Re: McMurrayA coaches career depends on having the right players at the right time in the right positions. The coach makes the decision. The only time I have seen a player make the decision is during recruiting if it is a condition of commitment.

Re: McMurrayA coach cannot force an athlete to stay any longer than the athlete is willing to stay. However, an athlete cannot participate in an athletic competition without the coach inserting him/her. That is why I say that it is the athlete's decision, but ultimately directed by the coach. I red-shirted my freshman season and it was an open dialogue with the coach.
Re: McMurrayAs thin as we are this year and Landrum looking like he isn't near ready( or he isn't that good) we need him desperately to play and play well.
Re: McMurrayI redshirted and there was not much discussion. Not allowing me to dress for the games kind of settled any discussion before it ever started.

Re: McMurray
No redshirt here...but then with a 10 year "career" on the Hilltop....why waste time? ![]() Party at The Wopper!
Re: McMurray
Eli is going to be a very good player. Great hands, great engine. Very quick, very athletic, great leap. His shot isn't falling yet, but it is a good shot. Going through what Gu did before conference play last year. He will be very good in the long term. I see a lot more from him than I saw in Sed a couple of years ago.
Re: McMurraySed is averaging 10 points, 3 assist and 2.5 rebounds per game. 34% from the field and 23% from 3.

Re: McMurray
And his defense? I watched a little Utah ball last year. He played darn near zero D. Little wonder he was in LB’s doghouse. Party at The Wopper!
