Are you talking about the lot directly south of the new rec facilities or the one up close to Moody behind the tennis courts? If you are talking about the one due south of the new rec center across rerouted Airline Road, the gate was up on that lot when I got there about 6:40, however the lot was almost full. Thought there would be a good crowd in Moody...not. Must have been students parking there to use the new rec center.

Yeah, that lot. We got there a little before 6:30 and the arms were down. Guess 10:00 made a difference. Thanks for the explanation, tmustangp and PK.

I think there are a lot of factors involved in gaining fan support. I remember when in high school and even in college when it was a game night it was an event. Yes, the common denominator is the fact that the hook would be to have a winning team however, you have to make it an event. The student body would get involved if they viewed it as the thing to do before gettting out for the night. The athletic department has to do more in terms of marketing it's product. Even in lean years(losing season) you can get fan support as long as you are competitive and you market that competitiveness. It would be nice if you could have the same excitement about an SMU Ladies game that you do for a Mavs game. Like Al Davis would say. "Just Win Baby"!
