Duane Akina from Stanford. I don't know if he would leave that job especially being around 58-59 for a defensive coordinator. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel that would be a stretch. However if we did, sounds like it would be a good hire.
Tony Franklin was the OC for Dykes at Cal and Latech and is currently the OC at Middle Tennessee. Maybe a name to keep an eye on for OC. The Middle Tennessee HC's son is the current QB and is graduating. They do not have a great replacement lined up so Franklin might see it as an opportunity to bolt.

If that's true, it's probably more of a result that Dykes wasn't given the $2.2m salary. Perhaps he got $1.5m and that freed up $700k for assistants. We really need to get a top recruiter above everything.
It makes sense since they both have ties to Texas Tech-Sonny Dykes was Offensive Coordinator in Harrell's first year as a starter--even new DB Coach Trey Haverty was a Senior in Harrell's true freshman year

As a member of the PirateΓÇÖs coaching tree, he has contacts with guys at Tech, Texas, TAMU, and TCU. His guys are going to have years of experience searching for talent at Texas high schools.
From what I have seen, I expect his DC to have B12 experience.
