Its too early to predict a damn thing about next year especially after a coaching change. I'll be predicting 48 hours before first kickoff.

Me, I'll be predicting 48 hours after kickoff. I wonder how much we'll have a feel for after spring practice.

If trey quinn comes back I’ll feel a lot better but I’m not expecting him to.

Without him and courtland, do we have anyone that can catch a ball and make a play? Proche is decent but I remember him with wide open receptions a few times this year and he got run down like he was standing still.

If Chad had been retained and we kept our recruiting class and roster together we were definitely continuing our upward climb.

I’m glad chad is gone. If we paid him he would just leave the next season. He didn’t want to be here anyway.

Our best win this year was against #89 arkansas state at home. Whoopee!

i've heard the same, but unless Trey Quinn is sure of a good NFL deal, then why not come back where he should be "the guy" next year in a crazy aggressive Sonny Dykes high scoring throw throw throw offense?

Well, Trey can't go to Arky bc of the SEC transfer rule. So he's either staying here or going to the NFL, IMO.

I do not know what the SEC transfer rule is but I would think a grad transfer could go anywhere.

I saw it confirmed elsewhere, Trey cannot transfer to Arkansas. It's either stay at SMU, where he won't have the luxury of Courtland Sutton being double-covered or on to the NFL. None of the Chad Morris wide receiver recruits have showed anything, they appear to be just guys.

I don't think the SEC has any written rule prohibiting an athlete from transferring within the conference, but I do think they have a "gentleman's agreement" not to poach each other's players. I know S.Carolina had a kid transfer from Ole Miss not long ago and it got a lot of press in these parts, but there were family health issues that were motivating the kid's desire to return home. Don't be surprised if Quinn wants to use a graduate transfer to Arkansas if he is eligible to do so

This wasn't Chad's "dream job" like A&M, but I don't think offering him $4M was going to keep him. I don't think SMU brass were convinced that an SEC school was going to hire a 7 win AAC coach. Which sub-10 win coach has been hired before?

So, UH offered Herman $4M before he got overtures from LSU and Texas. Chad would still want a big time DC vs. Malone. [More $$] Arky would've paid more than the $3.5M they did if SMU was paying a higher rate but I believe he still would've left this year. Like Sumlin before, they may only make 15-20% more right away but if they're successful, they will make substantially more than the previous G5 stop.
