Unfortunate that Landrun and Williams appear to be “projects” at this stage of their college careers and don’t really bring anything right now

It’s hard to imagine beating Zona, USC, WSU on the road and possibly be left out, but losing stupid bye games will kill us. They need to get wins against WSU and Cincy at home to get any confidence again. Team might as well target for winning the conference tourney.

We are:

1. Depleted by injuries;

2. Exposed once Ethan hits the bench 4-5 min in;

3. Weak on the inside and by the time Akoy gets in shape, the season (in terms of the tournament) is over;

4. Have no help for Shake when he has an off night; and

5. Still lacking an identity and an attitude. That left with Semi, Ben and Sterling. Man those guys were great.

Now, how popular is that reseat going to be?

McMurray 1-11 and Gu 2-12; team shoots 27%. Not sure I have EVER seen such a horrible shooting night from an SMU basketball team...even when we stunk!

That was just plan ugly basketball...doesn't speak well for the AAC. Looking more and more like a 2 bid league, but we should have several NIT/CBI caliber teams

We still have a chance. If we beat WSU at home and get a surprise win at Houston and go semis into the conference tourney then get the last 4 in, I think. Our OOC shouldn’t be ignored, hopefully, and getting WSU on the road with hopefully another surprise win or 2 should be enough. Right?

This loss is worse than the loss at Tulane because they are both very average teams and this was not a one possession game tonight

I like the optimism but we have a 0.0% chance of beating Houston at Houston. I’m not even sure we can beat UCF or Memphis on the road

Miracles happen. I believe not one person, including me, thought we would beat WSU, but we did. We proved we had an upside. If shake plays a stellar game and 1 other person helps, we will beat everyone but Cincy. However that requires consistency, so I think we can get 2 wins on the road against Tulsa, Houston, UCF. If we can beat everyone at home except Cincy, I still think we will be the last 4 in. These guys need to know they control their destiny. They need to be 100% every game. We did it with 6 exceptional men last year there’s no reason 5 others + shake can’t answer the call.

I just hope SMU recruits well because once Shake leaves whenever that is will it will be a task to replace him.
