UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center

Postby RGV Pony » Thu Feb 16, 2006 11:44 pm

UNLV game was on ESPN2 tonight. Does it seem odd to anyone else that they named the court after Tarkanian? I thought he left the school with some tough things to have to overcome as a result of the kind of program he ran.

If that's the case, how 'bout Meyer-Collins Field at Gerald J. Ford Stadium? Or perhaps name the new bball practice facility the Clements Center

Maybe Meyer, Collins, and Blount should put up some money for other projects on campus so other donors can be directed toward the athletic facilities.

They love Tark in Las Vegas. When we used to go to the WAC tourney in Vegas, there was a lot of spotlight on Tark coming back and all that jazz . In fact, they love him so much that he had his own parking space there at the Thomas and Mack Center for him to use whenever he wanted. At least at the time they did.

I sure do miss those yearly free trips to Vegas, even if they were on a bus.

Maybe change Clements Hall back to its original name (Atkins Hall) and tell he and Rita they're gonna have to pony-up for a new practice facilityand a renovated coliseum.

I'd be ok with that. Clements Hall isn't a very nice facility anyway, they owe us more.

Didn't ol Bill give like a $10 million donation several years ago to the History Dept or something like that? Been a while but I know he made a pretty big donation.
