But a 24-10 record at least looks good on paper.

UAPB always seems to be one of those sub .500 teams that finds a way to dance in March. That tough non-conference scheduling serves more than one purpose

UAPB always opens 0-10 playing big guys to fill their athletic coffers. That is except when they had us on the schedule a few years ago. That year they opened 1-9.

UAPB is playing Texas Southern who started 0-14 and is now 14-19

Its the Texas Southern model of success-and they've been much more successful using that model. TSU has annually played among the toughest non-conference schedule in the Country usually with no home games. They've beaten Michigan St, Kansas St. Temple in recent years. Gave SMU a decent game a few years ago. Mike Davis is the Texas Southern Coach and he's finished First 4 times and 2nd 2 times in 6 seasons
4 SWAC Conference Championships, 3 SWAC Conference Tournament Championship and could be a 4th, 3 SWAC Coach of the Year Awards

Conference 88-20 (.815)
Non-Conference: 24-66

Somebody ought to give him another shot

I did not check on Texas Southern. So one of them will be in the tournament with 15 wins.
