This could blend in well to the blvd if they had some sort of event in there like Oregon does. (bands, booze, cheer/pom/smu band, etc)

This looks great! As someone said before, you can always count on SMU to get the buildings and master plan right. Should be a very nice addition to the campus and hopefully also a fun gameday experience if they are to host events or receptions.

Feature local bands - Old 97s, Toadies, Rev Horton Heat - probably dating myself - is there a local music scene anymore? Any gangstas in the D?

What about a country western band, dressed in Hawaiian shirts?

I'm kinda surprised they couldn't find the extra 30 yards to squeeze in a full-length field.
I doubt the overhead "site plan" photo is drawn to scale, but it looks like they could've shortened the open spaces past each end zone, and moved Ownby Dr. over to the east (closer to the parking garage) to extend the building out farther to get the full 120 yards.
And not to be any more negative, but the East/West orientation of the field is gonna create the same sunlight-in-the-eyes problem the Cowboys have at JerryWorld. They should think about using tinted glass in the windows on the east and west walls of the field house.
Do they make Transitions lenses in window size?

I thought about that too when I saw the glass in the design. I also worry the team might have some equilibrium issues adjusting from practicing on an east-west field to playing on a north-south field but I am confident Sonny will be able to handle it.

I don't know what time they usually practice during the season but thankfully there isn't much sun in Dallas from August through November.

right so on a sunny day in, say, October, you think they'll be inside?

Let's all be thankful SMU had the foresight not to have the field laid out southeast by northwest. That would have caused some serious issues
