Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonDoes that mean he is a GT with two years, like Gilbert?
Really bolsters our safety position. A Big 10 starter with Onu, who is already 4th team all conference. Clemons and McQueen backing them up? That is a very solid unit.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonApparently he has 2 years eligible to play.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelson
and 2 years to earn a graduate degree. good for him!
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonGreat pickup.
Can he run routes?
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonWell, Pat Nelson apparently has good speed for a Safety as I hear he runs a 4.5 40. He should help the secondary next year with quickness & experience. I think he played WR & RB in High School also besides Safety.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelson
I was wondering the same thing. Looks like WR is our biggest position question mark.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonI hope he sees the field.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonI think we have another GT WR coming before the 2018 season for sure.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelson
Getting late in the calendar for that to happen. Someone undecided on a school or a late decision to leave?
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelson
Some times it takes longer as we have to clear up space too
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelson
Could be, but you can't expect your target to wait indefinitely. He may get antsy and start looking elsewhere.
Re: Graduate Transfer pat nelsonMy impression was that the targets we had were pretty much locks.
That said, the NI transfer that went to TCU was probably considered a lock and we missed. Not sure of other misses that are out there. It could be that there hasn't been as much attrition as anticipated. Could also be that some of the recommittment and spring performances changed the needs a little bit. All of that said, I would anticipate some WR GT (Does the TCU WR count?), and DT is the other area of need right now.
