(ap) breaking--lebron james has announced his retirement from professional basketball, stating "i have made enough money, now its time to give something back to the game". the ncaa has reclassified james as an amateur and he will join coach tim jankovich and the smu basketball program as a walk on this fall. the university of texas and the university of oklahoma have filed federal lawsuits and a statement asserting that this move by the ncaa is "an affront to the cabal that leads university athletics in the southwest and a threat to the managed competition that governs our established system."
