Hogman left us with many holes to fill, if we do beat N.T.S.U. it will

be because Sonny was able to overcome the mess he was left by that other guy.

DCTF has us going 6 - 6, and playing Texas Tech in the Armed Forces bowl. NTSU beats us, but
we sink the Navy at home :!:
May the forth be with us.

Hope Kane talks to Eric Schulman for tips on how to defense these guys. Remember those days when we could beat Navy.

I'm still not sure I understand this take...

WR - we lost two greats, and will take a step back. I get that.

DL - Lawler was an above average conference player. But we have a lot of other players here who well regarded recruits who should be coming into their own and had PT last year. And a transfer to boost as well. And an adequate weight program. I don't think we will see the productivity of this group drop. If anything, it will be deeper and more consistent.

LB - This group was awful last year. Worst in conference. Plug in a guy who started at A&M, an instant starter from a JUCO, and a bunch of players growing up. This unit should be better by a mile than it was.

OL - We lost Evan Brown, a great center. But everyone else returns, we get two JUCOs pushing for starting spots, and have a bunch of highly regarded recruits who should be hitting maturity. Pursley was undersized and awful until his redshirt sophmore season. That is the age a lot of these guys are hitting now. The OL should be better than it was last season, not worse. It isn't an area of concern.

RB is going to be great. QB will be better with maturity. secondary will be better with better depth.

I understand that WR is an important part of the team, but I don't understand the thought that the quality of this team will go backwards, unless you really have zero faith in any of the CM recruiting capabilities.

I hope 6-6. A lot of change to overcome. The question I hold is: How well does this SMU team bounce back from that disastrous ending of last year? How much does our SMU team believe in themselves and are they able to blow off everything else? Okay, I go for 6-6. I think they'll come back looking for greatness...

I tend to agree with you, Jason. I think this team is highly improved in all but one area (wr), and we will be ok there. I think there is one intangible that makes a big difference. The confidence these guys have now...in their strength, conditioning, coaching and depth. Time will tell but I’m not surprised in the end if the players were to vote Kaz as MVP. Oh, and Richard Moore has helped to change the attitude around here a lot.
