Don't you normally wait until 4:59 on a Friday for this kind of news dump?

Re: Full 2018-19 non-conference schedule releasedToo bad no one would StubHub floor seats....
Re: Full 2018-19 non-conference schedule releasedI walked away from my season tickets after getting the reseat pricing in the spring.
Today, I got an email asking me to come back and offering me new "deals." I'm seriously wondering how many people dropped their tickets. Moody is gonna be not so loud this year. ![]()
Re: Full 2018-19 non-conference schedule releasedOK, I'm going to put the best spin on this I can.
Two days ago I get email about bball tickets. Not wanting to hold a grudge I asked for seating chart. When a ticket sales person called me back he went over what was open and at what price. He was very nice and just said his job was to try to sell more tickets to those that had been ticketholders in the past. Yes, I told him why I left. Bottom line is... I bought tickets for the coming year. Paid in full and am very happy with the price and location. If you get a call and want to support this team, the coach and SMU... give them a chance to earn your business. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"

I didn't renew those seats in the front row I think I'll buy them on StubHub for like $10
Re: Full 2018-19 non-conference schedule releasedI don't love this schedule, but people are overreacting a little. For comparison, let's look at this year's and last year's OOC schedule for TCU and Houston. Last year's OOC schedules got them both tourney bids. Bold are tourney teams last year. Italics are NIT last year.
SMU's 18-19 OOC Lipscomb Oral Roberts TCU Western Carolina Southern Miss Bradley Penn State/Wright State Northwestern State Lamar McNeese State Cornell Georgetown TCU 18-19 OOC Lipscomb Oral Roberts SMU Cal State Bakersfield Fresno State Charlotte Bucknell/Rhode Island Hawaii Pacific (Honolulu) Eastern Michigan Central Michigan Indiana State USC Florida TCU 17-18 OOC Tex Southern Tennessee Tech SMU South Dakota New Mexico Nevada William & Mary Omaha Belmont UL Monroe Yale St. Bonaventure Vanderbilt Houston 18-19 OOC Alabama A&M UT RGV OK State ST. Louis Rice BYU Utah State Northwestern State Lamar Coppin State NJIT LSU Oregon Houston 17-18 OOC Incarnate Word Liberty Arkansas Fairfield UNO St. Louis LSU Prairie View Providence McNeese St Drexel Wake Forest I realize last year's results are not necessarily the best measure of this year's strength of schedule, but it allows for easy comparison. -TCU's schedule this year has 2 common opponents, we play each other (which if you go by last year's results means we have the better schedule in that regard than TCU) a tournament with similar matchups to our Cancun tournament, USC vs. Georgetown plus an annual SEC v. BigXII matchup that we don't have. Plus a lot of mid and low major matchups comparable to ours. Last year's OOC schedule had 3 eventual tourney teams. I don't know what Georgetown is looking like after the coaching change, but as far as name recognition, it's better than the Bonnies, no? -Houston's OOC schedule this year has ZERO tourney teams, though 4 are name brands that went to the NIT last year. Last year's schedule, which got them a bid had 2 tourney teams and 1 name brand NIT team. While ours has name(ish) brands, though only 1 went to the tournament (TCU) plus the NIT Champ (or a tourney team) in Cancun. The thing that really hurts is the lack of name brands (regardless of strength). Whether Bradley and Wright State are decent this year or not, it won't matter for the "eye test" (or season ticket holder satisfaction) as much as even a decent loss against a midling team in a power conference (like Okie State for example.) I would prefer us schedule the Wake Forests, Vandys, Colorados of the world, but I'm not quite ready to mail it in on this years schedule. We just have to win.

How do we perform in conference? Do we get a good team that can make a run and win the AAC tourney? Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"

Re: Full 2018-19 non-conference schedule releasedHere is what I have learned about the AAC:
* If you don't finish in the top 4 in conference, you aren't going to the NCAA. * If you finish high and have a bad OOC record, you aren't going to the NCAA regardless of who you played. So I think it is an overreaction to say that this schedule will keep us out of the NCAAs. The schedule sucks. The reseat sucked. But I also see a schedule that is going to get a team that will be without Shake, Ben, and maybe Foster (at the beginning) time to figure things out. It will give Douglas and Ray a chance to get a ton of PT and gain confidence. It will give our transfer PG and Mike a chance to run with their new team. It will give the staff time to figure out where to play McMurray. It is going to give Hunt and Young a lot of minutes as well to show if they should stay in the rotation as the season moves along. Houston, Memphis, Tulane, and UCF are all building strong programs to go along with SMU, UConn, and Temple. The AAC doesn't need SMU to schedule hard. That said, I do think that Jank is ultra conservative when it comes to his scheduling...
