DeMyron Martin arrested in Deep Ellum
Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower
Were you representing Marion Barry? That man is incredible. He gets arrested, caught on film with crack, and gets found guilty of a misdemeanor. He goes to prison where he gets kazooed by visiting female friends. Then he gets re-elected to the DC City Council and proceeds not to pay his income taxes and tests positive for coke in a drug test. He's still walking the streets.

.... [deleted] .... when one of your 'star' players gets in trouble with the law and you immediately assume that the police made a mistake 'and they should be fired, tried, and convicted.' You know not all the facts of this case and you come to these outlandish conclusions. Furthermore, to use 'black man assaulted by tazer' as a marketing scheme is ridiculous, even the thought alone is sickening. Also, TCU's students are of better quality than that of SMU's students and UT's students are by far better than both SMU's and TCU's combined.
You want to know what is a negitive for potential recruits? You guys.

Are you f'in kidding me? I'm not one to harp on typos...but the i is nowhere near the a on the keyboard. That's the least of my issues with this post. I don't know that anyone assumed anything; the FACTS were that DeMyron had a BA level of zip, yet was charged with PI. What's more, learn to comprehend when someone is commenting in jest...leave it to a froggie to take everything in a literal sense, at face value. And where the h*ll did discussion of student caliber come into play? Seriously, two posts mentioning DPD's entrance exam? I don't think those posts were setting out to make statements. Oh, and I'm guessing you placed the ' ' marks around star in an attempt to make light of DeMyron's athletic prowess. Can someone help me out with this one...which game was it, exactly, that served as DeMyron's coming out party in 2005? Anyone?
Oh, and I think most of us stopped using '[deleted]' when namecalling some time ago.
has this been reported in the DMN? or does anyone on this site, posting on this thread, have any evidence that this actually occurred?!?!?
a kid from the tennis team got in trouble over the weekend, and it made the DMN website, front of the sportspage, but nothing has been posted about DeMyron.
this whole thread is a bunch of speculative b.s.
shut up. move on.

"Small article on page 6 of DMN under headline, "SMU looking into allegation" Under this in smaller letters "top rusher arrested"
Jest of article is that SMU has ongoing internal investigation into allegation. As to arrest, Martin was arrested on Greenville Ave (not even close to Deep Ellum) with three others with a charge of public intoxication and resisting arrest or resisting search or transport. Posted a $500 bond and was released. Bennett said he would deal with the situation internally. Article did not say where on Greenville Ave."

Remember Lee Nailon? He just got out of jail. Just one example out of many from Texas Criminal University.
