so who had the great idea to kick the ball to Kavonte Turpin in the middle of the field. Perfect example why directional kicking is now taking over the punting game. Who cares if a punter gets off a "pretty kick" if it's run back for a TD. Give me a bouncing 35 yard net punt that Turpin can't catch all nite long. Last year SMU refused to let him touch the ball and he got zero yards in punt returns. Kick the damn ball out of bounce. Did it again in the 4th Q. He's one of the most talented Punt Returners I've ever seen and SMU was proven repeatedly that they can't handle him

No idea if it was intentional, but I can't imagine it was called from the sideline. Once (not the Turpin TD) he fielded a punt and Sonny met Sackville before he got to the sideline with his arms out -- looked like he was shouting "what are you doing?" Plus, he said afterward that the plan was to kick to the sideline. Sackville has been really good, but had no business kicking to that guy.

Turpin is a senior, isn't he? Hope we've seen the last of him.

Like Sonny said in his post game presser, kicking to the middle of the field was an obvious mistake on the part of our punter.

Can we give a shoutout to Kevon Robledo? That 49 yard FG was a thing of beauty. After having to move back, he nailed it with 10 yards to spare. He showed poise in a tough situation, so good for him!

In the presser, Dykes said that he literally told Sackville to kick the ball out of bounds before he went on the field. The punter messed up.
