There is a Kincaid's in Southlake now, BTW. So if you think Fort Worth is too far to travel to get one of the best burgers around, you can go there. It is off 1709.
Slowly, all my favorite foods are getting closer:
Babe's (fried chicken) is in Carrolton;
Kincaid's (burgers) is in Southlake
Railhead (BBQ) is in Grapevine

Check out Winghouse (on Beltline Road in Addison). Sort of a Hooter's theme, but the burger is better than I thought it would be.

Got to like The Salt Lick in Driftwood as they use the SMU logo on their website and they have great bbq.

As payment ( ) for use of the logo, they should cater BBQ for all PonyFans before games on The Boulevard.

The family and I made the trip back to Dallas last week and made our first visit to Babe's. Great chicken fried steak. Also hit Mi Cocina and Balls. If you're ever in Orlando, Cecil's BBQ is pretty good, especially since I noticed the SMU penant hanging on the wall in the dining room.

Chicken.
Used to only have the one in Roanoke, and a fella would order by saying, "one," or "two."

Sounds like "My Cousin Vinny" where the options on the menu are "Breakfast," "Lunch" or "Dinner."
So where's this Babe's chicken place in Carrollton? I go through Carrollton all the time. Sounds like it might be worth a stop.

Babe's is on Main Street in old downtown Carrollton. If you go for dinner, be prepared to wait - especially on the weekends. The chicken and sides are served family-style and its a "pitch till you win" deal (i.e., all you can eat). Definitely order the fried chicken - it is damn good yard bird.
Also - its BYOB, so load up a cooler if you want to have a coldie or two with your meal.
The family that owns Babe's also owns Bubba's on Hillcrest in Snider Plaza.

For those in Austin you need to go to Ski Shores on Lake Austin.

I also hear Dirty's is good for a burger & chocolate milkshake along the drag on Guadalupe.

Why the h*ll would you want to go to Austin to have a burger? There are NUMEROUS good eateries in Dallas.
Dirty's is appropriately named...I ate at their location in Houston only once when I lived there...I didn't ask for a dead roach on my burger. Pretty much ruins your appetite.

Was it chocolate covered, maybe they meant it as a dessert?
