McClown said it politely. They do deserve consideration, but I hope they don't get the job because they don't have the experiance level to run the show and get the SMU athletic department to the next level and the school needs some new blood.

But some loyalty does need to be shown to them for their loyalty and efforts and to help build their resumes for when they look to move on in their professions as well. Neither are SMU alums and, although I'm sure they enjoy Dallas, I know Carlton has looked at the UNM job and others, and Secules has interviewed for others, too. Keeping them in the hunt helps them, not only in the interview process, but it allows them to say 'finalist for the SMU job' the next time they interview with State U.
