Both teams are in first place, kicking butt. And it appears that we're getting some qualifying times for the NCAA even in some relays which is very important for scoring at the NCAA championships. If you can place in two or three relays alone, you could make the Top 10. That would be a big boost to both programs.

Yeah - I was talking to my friend luka and they are breaking records left and right. I'm glad everyone is doing well - and hopefully both teams will get some national recognition, which they totally deserve!

Congrats to the Men's and Women's Swim/Dive teams for winning the C-USA championship. Will the Men's team compete in the NIC Tournament this year? I did notice that the Women are #8 or #9 in the National polls and the Men have moved into the top 20. Good luck and make us proud in the NCAA's this year.

Congratulations to Coach Sinnott, Coach Collins, Coach Stillson (diving) and their teams. Blow 'em away at NCAAs.

Congrats, Ponies. Hopefully, CUSA will add Men's Teams, so it won't be an Invitational in the future. I suggest we no longer go to the National Indedenpendt Conference (NIC) Championship any longer.

Next up the NCAA's. Good Luck!

And let's get a new Natatorium, while we are at it.

Didn't suggest we wanted to avoid it, just an observation

ok, I'm an ignoramous when it comes to competitive swimming, what is the NIC, and how does that relate to our competing in the CUSA championship?

Good question. First, after the demise of the Southwest Conference, SMU Men's Swimming needed a conference to end its season, get swimmers qualified and then head to the NCAA championship each year.

Since the WAC didn't support Men's Swimming, we sought a home and there was a group of like minded schools with orphan Men's teams. As I understand it, the NIC Conference Meet was held in Oakland, MI. Hawaii and others also attended.

What I don't know is why a CUSA Men's Invitational is more desireable than the NIC (National Independent) Championship.

It helps us to continue to support the conference brand. Also, it allows for East Carolina to further develop its swimming program which is jumping up from Division II, I think.
